Last week was full of events for the Glee cast members, I wonder how they still manage to shoot their scenes without dying of exhaustion and tiredness…
First of all, there were the Golden Globes: Those of you who watched the cast take home the award for best comedy series last year, might have thought they wouldn’t win again. But you were wrong! They didn’t only win the award for best comedy series but also two more awards: Jane Lynch won for best supporting actress and Chris Colfer for best supporting actor in a comedy series. Check out his emotional acceptance speech here:
Chris was so excited and humbled and couldn’t believe why he would win against these strong competitors who he idolizes himself. The next day, he tweeted:
"I can't believe it. I'm not sure how much my shaky hands can tweet, but thank you so much! Couldn't do what I do without you guys!"
Well, who wouldn't have shaky hands - even the day after - when you just won your first Golden Globe with your first nomination at such a young age!
Check out more videos from the Glee cast backstage at the Golden Globes here (spoilers included!):
Here is an additional funny video by Extra TV's Mario Lopez with Dianna, Lea, Chord, Naya and Chris (the Glee part starts after Golden Globe winner Jim Parsons' interview, at 2:35).
But you can’t always get what you want: At this year’s Producers Guild Awards, Glee went away empty-handed, since the award for outstanding producer went to Modern Family. This was one failure, but two new nominations have been announced as well:
- One nomination for the GLAAD Media Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series
- One nomination for International Breakthrough Act for the BRIT Awards 2011 on February 15, 2011
But the cast is not only about Glee all the time. Several cast members have other projects going on:
Mark Salling's solo album Pipe Dreams was released in October 2010 and can be purchased online.
Cory Monteith and his band Bonnie Dune recently had a blast at their two concerts in L.A. and Anaheim, California on January 10 and 23, 2011. Check out this sneak peak video:
You can find more information and songs on their Facebook page. Cory and his bandmates are also tweeting news about upcoming events, so you might want to check out their twitter, too.
Matthew Morrison is another cast member who will have his first solo concert very soon: The free (!) performance will take place at The Grove in L.A. on January 29, 2011. So if you have time, you should definitely stop by! If you can’t attend the show in person, you can still watch the livestream online on http://www.facebook.com/OscarMayer.
