Jane Lynch Tells UK Daily Mirror: "I Didn't Want To Be Gay."

In a revealing January 31 interview in the UK's Daily Mirror, Jane Lynch revealed juicy details about her personal life, her upcoming singing scenes in Glee and even a few minor bombshells about her character, the egomaniacal, slightly deranged cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester.

Lynch, 49, who will marry her partner Lara Embry in May, had a hard time coming out to her parents. In fact, she waited until she was 31 to tell them she's gay.

"I didn’t want to be gay," she told the Daily Mirror. "I wanted to be… I wanted an easy life. And you know what? I am gay and I still have an easy life."

Lynch also revealed herself to be quite the goofball in the interview. She spilled the beans that Sue is rumored to have once posed for Penthouse magazine. Playing the brazen, overly-confident coach is "therapy" for Lynch:

"I'm a much nicer person at home, because I get it all out at work," she said. "That kind of contemptuous behavior is just below the surface for me, so it's nice that I don't have to dig deep for it."

Lynch may have a dark side, but she also knows how to have fun:
"I laugh almost every day at the word fupa – I don’t know if you know what it means. It’s a reference to the fat right about the groin area. I laugh at myself a lot. I find myself endlessly entertaining. I’m clumsy and I trip, and I move too fast, and I run into walls. That makes me chortle. I love fart jokes too."

In the Mirror interview, Lynch said she was in show choir in high school. That experience will come in handy later this season when she will finally sing on the show. Lynch has been "sworn to secrecy" about what song she'll perform. As with everything Sue Sylvester has done up to this point, her performance will surely make jaws drop. After all, Sue herself said, "I can't wait to start singin' and dancin' and maybe even puttin' on the ritz a little bit."

Gleeks can't wait either, Sue.
