Glee Inspires Seattle High School's Own "Will Schuester"

Greetings Gleeks! I found this great little article today in the Whidbey News-Times about Oak Harbor high school, located outside Seattle. One of their teachers, the absolutely adorable 25 year-old Darren McCoy, got approval from the school board to start their own Glee club after being inspired by the show.

“The show is really a recruitment tool,” McCoy (pictured on the right next to his TV inspiration, Glee Director Will Shuester) said in the article, which can be read in its entirety here.

School board member Dave McCool (yes, that's really his name) said he liked the idea. “As long as it can be done without the drama in ‘Glee,’” he joked.

McCoy told the Whidbey News-Times he expects a drama-free year, unlike his TV show choir counterpart, Will Schuester (insert heart flutter and sigh here).

“I won’t have to worry about a wife getting pregnant or a crazy P.E. teacher,” he said, referring to the show’s tyrannical cheerleading coach who is determined to destroy the Glee club.

It's not earth-shattering breaking news, but I thought it was worth noting.
