Trivia Tuesday: Harry Shum, Jr.

This week's Trivia Tuesday features Harry Shum Jr., otherwise known as "Other Asian."  I thought it would be fitting to pick him this week since he just had an amazing performance at the Oscars!

Harry was born in Costa Rica.

He speaks Chinese, English and Spanish!

Making an online TV series with his dance group LXD (Legion of Extraordinary Dancers) with director Jon M. Chu.  He describes it as "dance meets Heroes."

He has two sisters.

Says that he is really good friends with Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz in real life.

Claims his favorite TV role was on i-Carly.

Was so shy when he was young that his parents thought there was something wrong!

Likes pineapple, mushroom, and tomato on his pizza.  Also, loves asian food, especially sushi.

Favorite Movies : Goodwill Hunting, Back to the Future, Swingers, Chasing Amy


Plays tennis and golf.  Was on the track team in high school and did the pole vault.
 
(On dancing) "Dancing definitely fulfills my soul. But believe it or not I didn't dance much when I was a kid. I actually began dancing in high school when a friend of mine dared me to audition for the dance team. I ended up making it and my passion grew for it after my first performance in front of hundreds of people. So sometimes it's never too late to learn something. You never know what you may be good at."

(On acting) "I didn't start acting and dancing until junior high and I did a one-man show in junior high that was a requirement to audition for a play. I didn't know if I would want to do it but then I put my all into it. I did a one-minute rendition of Good Morning Vietnam and after I did that the response was everyone cracking up and laughing. I held onto that."
