Mercedes is a diva-in-training with a fabulous wardrobe and an even more fabulous attitude. She enjoys drama, gossip, and singing. She appears strong-willed and confident, often standing up for herself when she doesn't feel like she is in the spotlight.
Secretly, Mercedes has two weaknesses. First, she loves her friends. She is willing to sing a song for a friend that is in trouble, even if that friend doesn't really get along with her outside of glee club. She is often found talking on the phone to her BFFs -- Artie, Kurt and Tina -- giving them loving advice (and often letting them see the error of their unfashionable ways).
Second, she wants to be loved. After a mistaken relationship with Kurt, she got upset and busted the windows of his car. I think she craves someone else to think she is as fabulous as she knows she is, and will do anything to get that person. But, she is also misguided enough to think that someone (Kurt), who just wants to be great friends, might actually date her.
