Glee has wasted no time in getting Idina Menzel into the thick of the action.
The Tony Award winner has joined the show's cast for the rest of the season, and co-creator Brad Falchuk says she fit right in when she showed up on set earlier this month.
"I already directed her in the first episode," Falchuk said earlier this week during a visit to the "Glee" set. "She did two small scenes with Matt [Morrison], so we've started kind of easing her into it. She was great. I don't come from a musical background so I wasn't that familiar with her. ... She was fun to work with, fun to direct."
But really? Easing her in? The way Falchuk describes Menzel's first work on the show, that's not what it sounds like: "She and Matt had an immediate chemistry. ... Her first scene -- literally it was 'Welcome aboard,' and they had a big makeout scene. So it was interesting for her. It was like, welcome to the show."
A makeout scene featuring the leaders of New Directions and Vocal Adrenaline. Just let that roll around in your head until "Glee" returns on April 13.

I'm not sure how I feel about this little set up you guys! Hopefully it is just a momentary lapse in judgment for Mr. Schuester and he rushes back in to Emma's arms. But Ryan Murphy is a genius so I trust him completely. How do you guys feel about this??

ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. But all I know is that, after all this little panny annying around with Emma, this BETTER just be a short lived spontaneous thing. She's the enemy for goodness sakes. Can you say "distraction?" Hopefully something will happen, they'll start hating each other and BAM an even more juicy competition is one after sharing a moment of passion. He better not hurt Emma though. That's all I'm saying.
ReplyDeletewow, I would be really mad if Menzel comes in and messes up the chemistry between Will and Emma! Of course, if we get to see a couple hot makeout scenes while Emma recovers from her gym-teacher-romance, that's ok with me!

ReplyDeleteMaybe Will had a crush on this 'Idina character' not knowing she was the vocal coach of V.A. Maybe....It seems that she's the kind of person that would do ANYTHING to get what she wants and Will is just a piece of that puzzle.
Whatever that is - I don't like it.

We don't care about the drama, we don't care about the plot, we don't care about ANYTHING but those beautiful and lovin moments of a real couple like Will and Emma have that shows how much they love and care for each other.

Will and Emma relationship is the best thing in the show and Ryan Murphy's trying to spoil everything.

ReplyDeleteAs a Wemma shipper, I'm not that worried about it, because I think Ryan will have them together in long run. He even said that it's his job to keep them apart, so from that, I knew we were going to have more drama/angst. Can't wait to see what he has up his sleeve.

I think that Ryan is going to try and keep Emma and Will apart for as long a possible. I think that they will be together in the long run though because Will and Emma were pretty much made for each other. (I do love Idina not sure if I'm going to like her character though)
