The Spanish Teacher Episode Review

The Spanish Teacher” was one hot, hot episode! Let’s review, you know you want to!

In the beginning was a realization: Mr. Schue isn’t the best Spanish teacher around. His rendition of “La Cucaracha” sure was… something. I don’t know what was better- the big, stereotypical outfits (gotta love those sombreros) or the look on the students faces.
Soon after, we learn that a 10-year teaching position is available and everybody wants it.
Mr. Schue goes to night classes at McKinely to freshen up on his Spanish, which is where Ricky Martin comes in! Ricky’s character, David Martinez gives Mr. Schue the idea to have a Latin music week in the Glee club. How does he kick the week off?
Ricky Martin. Sang. Sexy. And. I. Know. It. In. Half. English. And. Half. Spanish!!! I’m pretty sure almost everybody can agree; that was one of the sexiest performances on Glee.
In Samcedes news, Sam and Mercedes go to visit Ms. Pillsbury, where they accept the challenge to not communicate with each other at all for a whole week to figure out their feelings for each other.
The shocker of the night: Sue wants to become pregnant- and she wants Will to be the daddy. Emma has a problem with this and confronts Sue about why she wanted Will to be her sperm donor, which resulted in a heart-warming tale of how she wanted her child to be a good person like Will.
Santana and Mr. Martinez dance and sing “La Isla Bonita” together, which Will had a problem with. He wondered why David was at the school during the day as he was a night teacher, but let’s face it- he was just jealous. Mr. Schue sings a Spanish translated version of “A Little Less Conversation” which was one of the intentionally worst performances in the world. Santana goes off on Mr. Schue for making a joke of the Latin culture and reveals that she complained to Principal Figgins about Mr. Schue’s teaching.
In the end, Emma is the one who gets the 10-year teaching position after a fight with Will and a silly pamphlet discovery. David Martinez takes over as the day time Spanish teacher and Will takes a history teaching position (the previous teacher left after going crazy)
Performance Ratings
“La Cucaracha”- Do I actually have to rate this? 1 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. It was only about 10 seconds long, which was 10 seconds too long.
“Sexy and I Know it”- 5 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter! I don’t have words to describe how amazing the performance was. Seriously, it was just… wow.
“Don’t Wanna Lose You” 2 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. Eh, nothing stuck out at me.
“Bamboleo/Hero”- 3 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. I liked it, but it wasn’t anything so spectacular.
“La Isla Bonita”- 4 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. I liked the dancing, but the lighting and Santana’s outfit looked a bit night clubbish to me.
“A Little Less Conversation”- 1 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. That was bad. Really, really bad. The bulls and the matador outfit was so intentionally horrible. It was good from the writers standpoint of it because it was supposed to be bad.
Guest stars- Ricky Martin and NeNe Leakes
Best Quotes
“The proofs in the pudding- my pudding sucks.”- Finn
“Sam just tweeted that I smell good.”
“I won’t stop until it’s trending.” –Sam and Mercedes
“Why don’t you just dress up as the Taco Bell Chihuahua and bark the theme song to Dora the Explorer?” –Santana to Will
“What you need to do is start praying that you give birth to a child that likes to eat sand ‘cause that’s all that’s going to come out of those old, wrinkly boobs.”-Roz to Sue

"Michael" Episode Review

Who's bad?

Not the Glee cast! Those New Directioners would have made MJ proud! They took a crescendo to every single song! Musically, this was one of the best episodes. Let's start something and review the episode!

First up we have Blaine singing "Wanna be Startin' Something". I loved how the song ended with all of the Glee clubbers all in different MJ outfits. If nothing else, the song taught us all one important thing: you’re a vegetable.

Next is a street performance of “Bad”. My, my, was there drama in that song! Between the tampered with slushy, a blinded Blaine and the loss of respect for the Warblers, the performance was bad! (How many jokes can I make about the song titles? For those of you keeping score, that’d be 3 times so far.)

After that, there was an eye-liner and anger charged performance of “Scream”. I must say, seeing Artie out of his wheelchair was odd in itself. I was a little upset that Mike’s dance number wasn’t as extreme as I thought it would be. But, it was a Michael Jackson Glee episode. I can’t complain too much.

Next was “Never Can Say Goodbye”. The song actually bored me a little. It was a nice performance and all, but compared to the others, nothing really happened.

After that was one of my favorites of the night: “Human Nature” Sam and Mercedes are meant to be together, and the kiss at the end of the song just proved my theory even more.

Next up was “Ben”. That was one cute Finchel moment! Rachel said YES to Finn’s proposal. Should she have? Comment with your thoughts.

After that, my ABSOLUTE favorite moment of the night: “Smooth Criminal” Santana and Sebastian- two of the smoothest criminals around Ohio, dueling it out. They both killed the song like the criminal killed Annie! (And who is Annie?)

“I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” is up next. What can I say? Just a cute little song.

“Black or White” The number was powerful and strong and just what you would expect from a Glee group number.

So, to sum the episode up, Blaine got attacked by a slushy with rock salt in it. (A clever way to disguise his absence while he was away in the Broadway production of “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying”) The entire episode revolved around New Direction battling it out for the right to use MJ songs for regionals. Quinn got accepted to Yale and Kurt made the finalists for NYADA, which freaks out Rachel because she had yet to receive her letter. So, in an “I have no real plan for my life” move, Rachel said yes to Finn’s proposal.

Performance ratings-

Wanna Be Startin’ Something- 3 and a half out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. It was pretty cool, but not as cool as other performances.

Bad- 4 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. I loved the performance. I never took my eyes off of the screen.

Scream-4 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. Wow… I’m actually speechless. It was a lot of leather and eyeliner and spikes…

Never Can Say Goodbye- 2 on the wow-o-meter. Eh, it wasn’t much.

Human Nature- 4 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. Samcedes for LIFE. Enough said.

Ben-2 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. I wasn’t all that impressed.

Smooth Criminal- 5 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. I’m obsessed with that song! Santana and Sebastian seriously attacked that song and owned it! The 2Cello guys were awesome, the vocals were amazing and I was blown away!

I Just Can’t Stop Loving You- 2 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. Nothing stuck out at me.

Black or White- 4 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. I don’t know why I liked it but I really did!

Favorite Quotes:

“This isn’t violent. This is clever. I taped it to my under boob.” –Santana

“I don’t know how to do that.”- Brittany (When asked to lock a door.)

My Favorite Glee Performances

To my horror Glee was not on tonight due to American Idol. (GRRRRR American Idol, GRRRRR)
So I decided to make a list of some of my favorite Glee performances to put me in my Tuesday Glee mood.

(In no particular order)
- Run the World (Girls) -Brittney and the girls
Britt really killed this one. Her dancing is always amazing, but that performance just stood out above the rest for me.
- Fix You- Mr. Schue
This performance was just beautiful with Mr. Schue praying with Emma. (both adult and little) I always forget what a good singer he is.
-Somewhere Only We Know -Blaine and the Warblers
It was just so adorable! KLAINE FOREVER
-Songbird- Santana
Another one of those just downright adorable and amazing performances that makes you want to just go hug a kitten (Perhaps Lord Tubbington)
-Buenos Aires- Harmony
Harmony was the result of the fabulous show "The Glee Project". I am so glad Lidnsay Pearce was a finalist because as a result, the Glee world was given the Buenos Aires performance. Just flawless.
-I Want to Hold Your Hand -Kurt
The little flashbacks with young Kurt and Burt were truly amazing. It almost made me cry.
-We Are Young- New Directions/Troubletones
And the ladies are baaaaack! One of the reasons I loved this performance was because the Troubletones came back to us. Plus, it's an awesome song.
-Rumor Has It/ Someone Like You- Troubletones
Between Mercedes' ever divalicious stage presence and Santana's powerful "Don't forget me..."'s, I love love LOVED this Adele mashup!
-Without You- Rachel
Her voice was so strong in this song it made me hate her always getting solos just a little less.
And last but not least...
-Don't Stop Believin'- New Directions
What can I say? You can't beat the classics.

There's my list! Comment with your favorite performances!

Should Rachel say yes?

In one of the biggest surprises of the season, Finn asked Rachel to marry him! Rachel’s reply? Well, the episode ended just as she was about to say something. (We all appreciate that, Ryan Murphy) So the big question on all of us Gleeks mind: should Rachel accept or decline?

Let’s weigh out Rachel’s options, shall we?

On one hand, Finchel is adorable together, and I’m sure they would be very happy.

On the other hand, they’re high school students! Not to mention Rachel is, well, a little crazy. Would they last?

Perhaps Finn should’ve just given Rachel a promise ring instead.

What do you think? Comment below: Should she stay or should she go?

All About Mini Warbler!

Ever since recently watching the Glee Concert Movie for the first time (Late, I know) I have become obsessed with Kellen Sarmiento, the mini Warbler. So, I’ve decided to look around and see what I could find out about this adorable little Warbler!

According to Kellen’s mother, Emily Sarmiento, “fell in love with” Warbler Blaine Anderson’s (Darren Criss) performance of “Teenage Dream”. Emily also stated that Kellen watched the performance over and over on his parents cell phones for 2 weeks before he had memorized the routine. Fun fact: Kellen is extremely detail oriented. His grandmother made his fantastic Warbler costume with help from Kellen. “He knew there were only two buttons on the blazer and that they were gold, but they weren’t on his jacket. So he told his grandmother, ‘You need to change that,’” Emily Sarmiento said.

Oh, that silly Kellen!

Kellen went to see the Glee Concert Live not once but TWICE. The second time around, videos of him dancing to the Warblers “Teenage Dream” and “Raise Your Glass” had gone viral on YouTube. Fans would come up to Kellen to take pictures. His mom said “he was pretty cool about it, which was weird because he’s usually so shy.” Emily was contacted by producers of Glee for permission to use footage of Kellen for the Glee Concert Movie. I can only thank the great Warbler in the sky because permission was given, and soon Kellen was walking down a red carpet for the premiere of the movie.

Kellen is now in kindergarten, and I’m sure he’s knocking the hair bows off of all the little ladies in his class.

"Yes/No" Review

**WARNING: This article is a bit of a spoiler if you haven’t watched the episode “Yes/No” yet. But if you haven’t, it’s your own fault; shame on you. **

That Ryan Murphy sure does know how to keep us entertained! Last night’s episode of Glee, Yes/No (aired on January 17, 2012) was as emotional as a quart of chocolate ice cream. Let’s review, shall we?

First we have Emma Pillsbury’s adorable song about wanting to marry Mr. Schue. (Which she happened to have sung aloud, not just in her head) It’s a good thing she sang aloud, because her song gives Will the extra push he needs to finally propose to her!

Next up is Mr. Schue and Finn ring shopping together, which is when we find out that Finn wants to enlist in the army to follow in his father’s footsteps! (Insert your “GASP” here)

One big shocker of the night: Finn’s father didn’t die in Iraq like Finn had always thought: he died from a drug overdose in the States.

On a happier note, Will proposed to Ms. Pillsbury with the help of the Glee club and synchronized swimming! Rachel and Santana’s rendition of Rihanna’s “We Found Love” wasn’t the best Glee performance, but it was certainly sweet. (And was I the only person cracking up over Artie’s little dance moves in his pool chair?)

Artie and Becky’s little “romance” was quite cute, and I loved Becky’s British voice in her head. When Artie declined her very generous offer to do things of an explicit nature with her, I found her ice cream eating, Lifetime Movie Network watching breakup cure with Sue extremely heartwarming.

Last but certainly not least was the second huge shocker in the episode: FINN PROPOSED TO RACHEL. Next week’s episode sure has some explainin’ to do. Will Rachel accept or decline? When is Mr. Schue and Emma’s wedding going to happen? Will Becky and Sue overcome their broken hearts? Tune in next time on Glee.

Performance Ratings

“Summer Nights” – 3 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. It was a cute way to tell the story of Sam and Mercedes’s, but not the best vocal performance around.

“Wedding Bell Blues”- 4 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter based on cuteness alone.

“Moves like Jagger/ Jumpin’ Jack Flash”- 3 and a half on the wow-o-meter. I liked Artie’s performance vocally, but Mr. Schue’s dancing made the number seem a bit silly to me.

“The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face”- 3 and a half out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. All of the ladies sang beautifully, but nothing really jumped out at me about the performance.

“Without You” 4 out of 5 on the wow-o-meter. As much as Rachel’s always getting the solo annoys me, she sang this song quite well technically. Was it too powerful for a pop song? Possibly, but I enjoyed it none the less.

“We Found Love” 3 and a half on the wow-o-meter. The performance was visually spectacular, but the vocals didn’t really pop out at me.

Guest star- NeNe Leakes

The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, NeNe Leakes was pretty funny for the few lines she was given.

Favorite quotes of the night: “I, Becky Faye Jackson, am the hottest b*tch at McKinley High School.” –Becky

“That girls a sly, conniving b*tch.” –Santana about Becky
