Are You a Fanilow?
Although this article is not new it does give us the scoop on a confirmed guest star to Glee appearing somewhere in the back 9. According to Ryan Murphy, Barry Manilow will make his way to McKinley for a guest spot sure to make us all Glee-ful! I wonder how they are going to work him in! Oh and just an FYI - the cast goes back to work to begin shooting the back 9 on January 6th. In fact, episode 14 is set to shoot from January 6th - January 15th. Maybe we'll get some stills from the set...
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Just think, tomorrow we'll at least be in the same year as the return of Glee. Only 103 more days :)

Matthew & The Honors
The 32nd Annual Kennedy Center Honors were on last night and Matthew Morrison was one of the performers honoring Mel Brooks. He sang "Springtime for Hitler" from The Producers and was, of course, fantastic (even if the song he sang is insanely inappropriate & hilarious). Matt did a great job and it was so fun to see him on a stage again (and super cute as always). Check out the clip below!

Original Song
Ryan Murphy has revealed that one of the episodes coming up on Glee will contain completely original music - never heard before.
Murphy says, "I've had a lot of calls from songwriters, to the point where it's kind of embarrassing and ridiculous," he says. "So we're writing an episode called ‘Original Song' where the teacher asks the kids to write their own piece of music. Diane Warren is going to do two big ballads, and if it works, we'll see what happens . . . but we won't do it all the time."
This is interesting considering the fact that Ryan Murphy once said that he would NOT put original content in the show. I'm glad he changed his mind! While I love the covers that the kids do, I would love to hear some original content specific only to Glee. What do you think?
Once again, Ryan Murphy does not disappoint. Seriously, April can not come soon enough. Only 104 more days! Ugh...the agony!

Hello Again
I came across a great article in Variety today. So much is written about the cast and storylines of Glee but we don't know a whole lot about the geniuses behind the show. Can any of you tell me who PJ Bloom is?PJ Bloom is one of the masterminds behind Glee's incredible musical success. Ryan Murphy approached his long-time cohort about Glee and had to explain to him what a show choir was and how on earth he was going to take an episodic musical and turn it in to one of the most popular and successful shows of our time.
Have you ever wondered how the crew of Glee manages to get rights to some of the most popular songs of all time? Well, it is NOT easy. According to Bloom, "We had this uphill battle of trying to license some of the biggest songs in the world by the biggest artists in the world for an episodic musical that nobody had ever seen. And this type of show has failed miserably."
To start things off Bloom needed to somehow get the rights to "Don't Stop Believing" and it was very difficult. Bloom notes, ""You were battling (writer/ex-vocalist) Steve Perry's concerns about how his music is exploited," Bloom says. "You were battling the band's inner turmoil. It took everyone's efforts -- mine, (Fox executive in charge of music) Geoff Bywater, all the publicity people, the promo people -- to develop an overall campaign to convince Steve Perry and the band to be involved. And it really has become the signature song moment of the show."
Neil Diamond was apprehensive at first to allow Glee to cover his epic hit, "Sweet Caroline" but was thrilled when he heard it on the show! Here's where a little spoiler comes in...Bloom mentions that they have approached Diamond again for his song entitled "Hello Again". Could this be the basis song for Glee's return show on April 13th with the title "Hello"? We haven't heard it yet and we can only assume that it will be in an upcoming episode!
The bottom line is that us Glee lovers owe a gigantic THANK YOU to Mr. PJ Bloom for helping to create such a musical masterpiece.

Matthew Morrison Out and About in LA
Shortly after the Golden Globe noms were announced paps caught Matthew Morrison out and about at Katsuya Restaurant in LA. Luckily, even after his big break to stardom with his nomination he still has his feet on the ground (spring for some new boots buddy) and was chatting it up with a homeless man outside the restaurant. Just in case you needed a reminder of what a cutie this guy is...here you go!

The cast is set to go back to work to film the last nine episodes shortly after the New Year. Here's hoping we get some dirt on what's going on once that begins! Only 106 days to go! Oh and don't forget to get your copy of "Glee, Volume 1: The Road to Sectionals" in stores tomorrow!!

Star Magazine Interview With Jayma Mays
Were you surprised by Glee’s enormous success?
Jayma: Yes! We didn’t know what to expect when we started. The fact that people are watching and are really excited by it gets us even more excited to come to work.
Viewers have been waiting a long time for Emma and Mr. Schuester to kiss!
Jayma: So has Emma, let’s not lie about that! And for the record, he kissed her. Emma did not kiss him. Emma is not a homewrecker.
With the show on hiatus until April, what are you doing with your free time?
Jayma: I’m visiting family. That is the focus for the rest of this month. I am going to see my husband’s family, my family, our nieces and nephews and celebrate the holidays. I am so thankful we have the time to do that.
Your character fears germs. Are you the same in real life?
Jayma: I never really thought about it until I got this job and began to play Emma. But I will confess I am more aware now than I was before. Now I won’t touch handrails, and I keep Purell in my pocketbook.
Are you and Adam considering having a baby anytime soon?
Jayma: Definitely, but I don’t think we are ready just yet — maybe in a couple of years. We really want a family, because that is what life is about. If I can’t have kids, then I will adopt!

In case any of you don't know who Harry Shum Jr. is, he's that cute Asian guy in the background of the glee club who dances amazingly but never seems to have any lines, AKA Mike Chang. ClevverTV interviewed him and they talked about Glee, his dancing history, iPod commercials (he was the shadow guy!), and his other projects. Enjoy!

While in DC for the Kennedy Center Honors back on December 7th, Matthew Morrison sat down with Tammy Haddad of Politico for a quick interview at Cafe Milano (one of my favorite places in DC). The interview can be found here but I've included part of it below.
He's such a sweetheart and so humble and so very cute! Thanks Tammy for bringing us this Glee-ful interview!

Chris Colfer's Style
H Monthly wrote up an article about Chris Colfer and his fashion sense. Chris describes his style as "a notch above casual" and he says that he loves Banana Republic, Express, and Ben Sherman. He insists that Kurt’s wardrobe is what gets him into his role as Kurt on Glee. “Kurt’s clothes are 25 to 30 percent of his character. I’m much more of a T-shirt and jeans kind of guy..." Check out these pictures from the photo shoot!

More News from Ryan Murphy
In further research about the Hollywood Radio & Television luncheon held a couple of weeks ago I have found out a few fun facts about Glee that some may not have known as well as some history for Glee genius Ryan Murphy.
According to Greginhollywood.com, the original script for the pilot of Glee had no Sue Sylvester! Can you imagine the show without her? Thank goodness Fox president Kevin Reilly realized that a villain was needed and sought out Ryan Murphy's thoughts as to who this villain should be. Murphy immediately gravitated towards Jane Lynch but was worried that it would be hard to nab someone like her for this role. He was able to get creative in the character description for Sue's part and tried to make the character in to someone Jane would like to play. He used the words, "Sue Sylvester, probably on horse estrogen" and was hoping she would be intrigued by that and of course, the rest is history!
I'm sure Jane's not sorry she took the role considering the fact that she is nominated for a Golden Globe, Satellite Award, and SAG award! Oh and mark my words...she will absolutely be nominated for (as well as probably win) an Emmy for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester.
Here's a little fun fact about Ryan Murphy, he always wanted to be an actor! “When I was a kid, when I was growing up, I initially wanted to be an actor, I kind of had the lead in all the musicals,” he said. “I kind of got to college and I started writing musicals and I was, I think, too self-conscious as a performer. But I desperately loved performing but more than that, I remember being that age and thinking that how much potential there was, anybody could be a star. I wanted to tap into that [with Glee] because I love that feeling.that anything is possible.”
I'm sure Ryan would have been a terrific actor but I'm very glad that he set up shop behind the camera to bring all of us his Glee-ful creation!

And the Awards Keep on Coming!
According to TheaterMania.com Glee has been honored once again! The International Press Academy announced the winners of their 14th annual Satellite Awards and Glee took home some major gold!
"FOX TV's Glee was named the year's Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical, and earned awards for three of its stars, stage veterans Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele and Jane Lynch. In addition, Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth also picked up a special achievement award for her guest star turn on the series."
I am not at all surprised by all of the awards hoopla surrounding Glee and I absolutely can not wait for the Golden Globes because I'm pretty sure they are going to clean up!
Congratulations to the entire cast for their honors, especially Matt, Lea, Jane, and of course Kristin Chenoweth!

One Word: Madonna.
Thank you Google Alerts for sending me this little snippet this morning! Looks like Matt Morrison gets his wish and Madonna's "Like a Virgin" is actually happening in the episode dedicated entirely to her highness!
According to Life Line Live "The next episode--when the show returns in April--will feature Madonna's Like a Virgin. 'I just got the script for that. It's pretty amazing,' says Morrison."
As I've mentioned before Matt wanted the storyline that Will & Emma perform this classic song the first time they...you know. He doesn't specify that that's what happens but he's pretty excited about this script so that leads me to believe that he got his wish. Jayma Mays has the perfect voice for this song too - I hope it happens!
It also seems like we won't have to wait too long after the show comes back in April for the Madonna episode, it sounds to me like it is the first one back! I guess the producers are beginning to make up for the fact that they were so cruel to take it away in the first place. But just barely.
I am so excited for this Madonna episode. I love Madonna. I love Glee. I love Will & Emma. I hope Matt Morrison got his wish too because this could be classic!

"Oh And That Blouse Is Just Insane"
Emma's got style. Major style. Vintage perfection. I love everything she wears and have literally spent a stupid amount of money perfecting my inner Emma Pillsbury. My daughter even sports ruffled cardigans on a regular basis. Major props to Glee's costume designers for sharing their talent with the world. Because I am so enamored with Emma's style you can imagine that I was totally thrilled to find this website during a quick Google search for the shoes Emma's always wearing (J. Crew Penelope Mary Janes, by the way, and their sold out. Blast!). How did I go this long without finding this site? I feel it my duty to share it with my fellow Emma lovers out there who are trying to channel her perfect style.

"Matty Fresh"
Betcha didn't know that Matthew Morrison's nickname is Matty Fresh. I did. Because I love him. Don't worry, my husband knows about that. The bottom line is that Matthew Morrison is adorable (not to mention suuuuuper hot). A while back he did an interview with Orange County Magazine where he shared some interesting stuff and talked a bit about what led him to the stage and ultimately to Glee. The last part of the article has Eight Things You Never Knew About 'Matty Fresh'. Read below and learn a few things you may not have known about our favorite hunky teacher. Eight Things You Never Knew About 'Matty Fresh'
Most fans don't know that Matthew Morrison has a quirky side, one that keeps him grounded. After all, it's easy to stay humble when you're nicknamed after a brand of kitty litter...
1. An early TV appearance led to his goofy nickname. "My first real job was back in 1999 on The Late Show With David Letterman.' I was part of this skit with a fake boy band called Fresh Step you know, like the kitty litter. And it just stuck after that. Now, everyone calls me Matty Fresh. In fact, now, it's just Fresh. As in, Hey, Fresh! What's up?'"
2. He also dreamed of being David Beckham. "I would rather be on a soccer field than anywhere else."
3. He can't tan. "It's in my contract. The show supposedly takes place in Ohio, so I can't look like I just got back from Hawaii."
4. He's a college dropout. "I went to NYU for a year and a half and then left. I didn't feel I needed any more from there because I got such a great start at the High School of the Arts. They taught me so much, I felt ahead of the game."
5. Favorite high school hangout: Mustard's on Katella Avenue in Los Alamitos. "I always ordered The Snappy. It was a hot dog and it kind of, like, snapped. I don¹t know how to explain it. But it did! It snapped when you bit into it!"
6. Favorite grownup hangout: Matiki Island Barbeque in Anaheim. "I get the No. 6 combo short ribs and teriyaki chicken with a side of white rice and macaroni salad."
7. He's working on an album. "It will be sort of Dean Martin-esque. Just me and a big orchestra doing some standards and some original songs."
8. He didn't make the first cut after auditioning to get into the High School of the Arts. "I was wait-listed. I was totally bummed out. I thought maybe I wasn't talented enough. But, that said, things happen in life that make you work harder. So, when I was allowed in, I was honored to be there."
Oh, and get used to me writing about Matt Morrison because I adore him and everything he does!

Updates From Ryan Murphy
And have you ever wondered about the strange way Glee was premiered in May, then we had to wait four months for another episode, we got 9 more episodes, and now we have to wait another four months for another 9 episodes? It was Fox's idea! However, Murphy did consult on it, and thinks "it definitely paid off. I think it worked because the show is about thinking outside the box, and doing things that are unusual. They picked it up because they didn't want just another network show. They wanted to do something unusual and strange. And so that philosophy has gone into the marketing of it."
Wondering what the upcoming episodes have in store for us? According to an interview with Greg In Hollywood, Sue Sylvester will continue in her evil ways: "Sue will never take a backseat on the show ever because Jane is so fantastic and we write so heavily toward her… people love her. If you thought she was bad in the first 13, she’s doubly wicked and funny in the [rest]." and the Madonna episode will include ten of her songs. (If you have any thoughts about which ones, leave them in the comments!) Kristen Chenoweth (and more) will also be guest starring: “I’m really excited about Kristen Chenoweth coming back, she’s such a doll and I love writing for her and I love pitching songs that she’s never sung. And we have a couple of really big top-secret guest stars who I can’t say. Childhood idols of mine. … They love the show and wanted to do it." Could that mean Madonna herself will show up in the Madonna episode? Let's hope so!

Current Glee News
So it i has been 9 agonizing days since the fall finale came and went. 9 days thinking about the fact that I won't see my Gleek's smiling faces for four more months. I keep thinking that it will go by quickly because time usually seems to fly, but I fear it will be a long Glee-less winter. The only thing getting me through is my constant watching of every episode as well as trying to find out everything I possibly can about the final nine episodes of season one.
Here's what we know so far...
Jany Lynch has told EW.com what happens in the first two episodes back.
"I have read the first two episodes [of the back-nine] and I can tell you that I will be singing and dancing," Lynch reveals. "I can't tell you what I'm singing because it's top-secret" Just a little hint? Teases Lynch: "It's a very cold song."
Could it be Cold as Ice by Foreigner? Personally, I cannot wait to see Jane sing and dance. Pure comedy I tell you!!
While many members of the cast (Chris Colfer & Dianna Agron) have mentioned how excited they are for Broadway star, Idina Menzel to come on board, my buddy Ryan Murphy shot down those rumors.
"I don't know what I'm doing with Idina yet." He told PEOPLE at a Hollywood Radio & Television Society panel on Wednesday (12/16). "I just met with her once. It sort of got leaked, but I haven't plotted it out yet."
I don't think it will take much to get Idina to come on board. Apparently she is a big fan and her husband has said that she would love to do it. I think Ryan is trying to trick us. After all, why would the cast speak about it so frankly? Here's hoping my favorite green-faced witch shows up in April. The rumor is that she is to play Vocal Adrenaline's director, which would be fantastic!
Ryan Murphy has confirmed, however, that Mr. Jonathan Groff is set to appear as Rachel's love interest AS WELL AS the male star of Vocal Adrenaline. This could get sticky. Mr. Murphy has also confirmed to PEOPLE that Kristin Chenoweth returns!
"I know Kristin has a huge episode," Murphy said. "She's coming back because we write that for her, but there are some other people coming that I can't say, but they are big music people, so I'm very excited!"
And what of Will & Emma? I have to confess that I have watched the last 10 minutes of "Sectionals" several times a day since last Wednesday. I just can't get enough of it. It would obviously be too easy for Wemma (yup, I said it) to just live happily ever after. Jayma Mays (love her) swears that she doesn't know what happens next BUT she did tell E! her thoughts:
"I feel like last night was as much of a cliffhanger for the characters in the show as it was for everyone watching," she confessed. "I haven't a clue what happens next, but I do hope they give her a job somewhere. She'll starve to death. It's a recession! What was she thinking leaving school?" When asked about Emma & Mr. Shuester she went on to say, "The triangle is definitely still there. Emma's afraid of everything, so I doubt she would jump into anything headfirst. I think she's too analytical for that. As much as she wants to be a romantic and in the coulds and stuff, I think she'd want to be smart about it."
There is no doubt in my mind that Terri will be doing everything in her power to destroy Will. Jessalyn Gilsig (Terri) has confirmed that she does return to work in January so we know she's around for at least a bit longer. I hope with all the hope I have that Will & Emma will power through Terri's manipulative ways and come out on top. I absolutely adore them!
There is a lot of scuttlebutt about the big Madonna episode. There will be a whole episode dedicated to her music and I would not be surprised if the legend herself showed up in it. That's just speculation of course but it would be awesome. Matt Morrison would love to perform Madonna's "Like a Virgin" with Emma as he mentioned in an interview with TV Guide Magainze back in November.
"If Emma and I were ever to get together, maybe [we could perform it] the first time we consummated the relationship. I want that storyline. I hope it happens. I think it would be the funniest thing because she's so O.C.D. I think there would be a lot of Purell involved."
It also sounds like Sue Sylvester's Cheerios might perform a selection from Madonna as well. Ryan Murphy told Kristin Dos Santos of Watch with Kristin that Sue starts the Madonna show off because she has always wanted a team good enough to pay homage to Madonna. All I have to say is that this episode is going to be EPIC!
That's all we know so far. I am always checking the cast's Twitter pages to see if they hint to anything but it seems that right now they are just in dance rehearsals and the recording studio. Full shooting resumes in January and I have a feeling that's when things may start to come out a little bit more. I am hoping that the rumor that new content will be released during the hiatus is true because I am DYING!! Only 116 days to go. Sigh.
Letter To FOX & Ryan
GleeClubOnline has a new writer! Please welcome Rachel! This is her first article:
Dear FOX Broadcasting Company & Ryan Murphy: creator of Glee;
I never doubted that your show would be an instant hit. Some people did. Not me. I stood by you from day one, the very first episode last spring. I knew this show would change the way people watch television. Because of this immense confidence I can’t help but feel a bit jaded by the fact that you have sung your swan song tonight. You should have known better.
You should have known that the whole world would fall in love with you, as I did. You should have known that your show would knock the proverbial socks off of the competition. You should have realized that this magnificent creation would have been picked up for far more than just thirteen episodes. What kind of optimism do you possesses? Not enough I tell you!!
I am a new mother and while I would not trade anything for the chance to be a mother to my daughter I have to confess that on Wednesdays I am counting down the seconds until she goes to bed. For it is when she goes to bed that I feel alive. My heart begins to race because I just know that I will be thoroughly entertained for one solid hour. No crying, no tantrums, no bottles, poopy diapers, or mashed bananas. Just me and my TV surrounded by my favorite Gleeks.
When I watch the show sometimes I feel like I am Mary Poppins and I have just jumped in to that chalk picture on the sidewalk. I can imagine myself walking the halls of McKinley High headed to Glee rehearsal and to swoon, like Rachel did, over Mr. Shuester. Oh Mr. Shuester. Give me a boy who can sing, dance, act, and is super cute and I am done for.
I must give credit however, where credit is due. Tonight’s episode was everything I hoped it would be and more. It was perfect in every way and perhaps the only acceptable way to leave your fans high and dry for four long torturous months. My heart aches just typing those words.
In closing, I would like to say thank you for creating such an incredible show. I would also like to say shame on you for not making 22 episodes. Shame on your for giving us viewers such a phenomenal show and then yanking it away from us as if you were taking away our ability to breathe. I sort of hate you. And love you at the same time. That being said, I will wait patiently for the return of this wonderfulness and watch my DVDs of it (already pre-ordered) in the mean time.
Regretfully,
Rachel

Glee Receives Four Golden Globe Nominations
The Golden Globe nominations were announced today, and Glee received nominations for "Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical", "Best Performance By An Actress In A Television Series - Comedy or Musical" (Lea Michele), "Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Series - Comedy or Musical" (Matthew Morrison), and "Best Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role In A Series, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made For Television" (Jane Lynch).
Here are a bunch of pictures of the Glee cast celebrating after hearing the announcement.
(Pictures coming soon)
Entertainment Weekly interviewed Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, and Jane Lynch.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You got up at 5 a.m. to hear the nominations?
LEA MICHELE: I was just looking on my computer, and I couldn’t find anything. So then I decided to turn the TV on, and the minute I turned the TV on, the first name I heard was my name. It was crazy. I just couldn’t believe — and I still can’t believe — that I was nominated in the category that I’m in, with the caliber of actresses I’m amongst. It’s such an out-of-body experience, really.
What’s the best “congratulations” you’ve received so far?
Probably the most realistic one, which was my mom, who was like, “I will give you a proper congratulations when I snap out of this shock.” [Laughs]
Is there anything special being done on the set for you guys today?
We’re filming in a couple of weeks, and right now, we’re just starting to rehearse musical numbers and get into the recording studio. I’m walking from set to the dance studio right now. I’m sure us kids will all get together and do something a little bit later, but right now, it’s right back to work here.
That’s no fun!
I know, right? Wouldn’t it be great if they had, like, buses to take us all to Disney World today or something like that? “I thought we were going to go to Magic Mountain!” [Laughs] Maybe next year.
Did you cry watching the fall finale like we all did?
Ohmygod, I cried so much filming the fall finale that I seriously had zero tears left. I haven’t been able to cry since then because I literally drained myself of all of my tears saying goodbye to the cast because we weren’t sure if we were gonna get picked up for the back nine or if that was gonna be the last episode. The last number I did was “Don’t Rain On My Parade.” That’s the last thing we filmed. The first time I cried since then was today, driving to work after hearing the nominations and just realizing how far we’ve come since we first started filming the show.
What are you most looking forward to about Golden Globes night?
I’m just really excited to get to go. I’m gonna bring my mom. I just want to sit back and be a fly on the wall. That’s really all I want to do. I just want to sit, watch everyone, see all the people who are there, and probably have a heart attack when they announce the nominees for my category. To hear my name between Edie Falco and Toni Collette is just crazy.
Just FYI: I hear the bathroom is a good place to hang out if you want to be a fly on the wall. We always try to have a reporter there.
[Laughs] I would never want to pull a Christine Lahti and be stuck in the bathroom, so I’m gonna stay out of there, that’s for sure.
You’re so giddy about your nomination. So giddy, in fact, that you’re now going to let your guard down and slip me what scoop about the spring episodes?
Nothing! [Laughs] Absolutely nothing! Just because I’m practically delirious right now about my Golden Globe nomination doesn’t mean that I’m going to spill anything! I will say that the music is gonna be amazing and the scripts are fantastic. We have Jonathan Groff [her Spring Awakening cast mate], my best friend in the whole world, who was with me this morning when I found out about the nomination, on the show with me. It’s gonna be great.
Last question: If you could use your new status as a Golden Globe nominee to make one star demand, what would it be?
If it could get me into Katsuya without a reservation, that would be amazing. Easy access to sushi without a reservation would be amazing. [Laughs]
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Have you had time to celebrate?
MATTHEW MORRISON: It’s really just talking to friends and family and responding to emails. It’s just been a nonstop morning.
Did you wake up early to watch the nominations?
No. I didn’t. My agent called me, but I was kinda tossing and turning all night because I knew it was happening. But I didn’t wanna watch it.
It’s been such a great year for you guys, and this must be such a great kind of reward after the first 13 aired.
Yeah, well, I’ve had a lot of perspective this morning, just kind of thinking back to when we started this thing and that feeling of hoping people would catch on to it. And then just watching the show come together and being recognized. This is just extra credit now.
Have you talked to any of the cast yet?
I was doing these interviews and Jane Lynch just called me. But I texted with Lea [Michele] and Dianna [Agron, Quinn] and Jenna [Ushkowitz, Tina] and Chris [Colfer, Kurt].
Have you heard from [Glee creator] Ryan Murphy?
Yeah I texted with Ryan this morning.
Are they psyched?
Ryan said, “You realize you’re a huge star now, right?”
You are! What does it mean to get a Golden Globe nomination?
I haven’t really processed that yet. I actually saw a 30 Rock episode not too long ago. Tracy Morgan had a necklace that said EGOT: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony. It’s kind of part of my introduction now. Everyone says “Tony-nominated actor Matthew Morrison.” So now I have another thing to put on there!
Are you going to celebrate the rest of today?
I’m gonna go play a round of golf with my dad.
Well congrats again and that finale was fantastic. I cried like a baby.
Well, we just won sectionals, and now Glee’s going to the Golden Globes. It’s been a good week for us.
I hope your round of golf is equally as successful.
Oh no, it’s gonna be s—ty.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How did you find out about your nomination?------
JANE LYNCH: I woke up to several messages — when I saw the volume of them, I knew it was probably good news. My agent called me three times and was like ‘get up, get up!’ and, you know, I was kind of playing too-cool-for-school and slept through it because I didn’t want to get too excited about anything. But this is really a lovely dream. It was so fun to come to work this morning. The kids are beside themselves with excitement. It’s great.
We talked to Matthew Morrison, and he said he found out about his nomination from a voicemail you left him. I was hoping you might have left him that voicemail in character as Sue…
Oh, I did, actually! I called him a little you-know-what — a little FU-know-what.
Considering their rivalry, I’m sure Sue wouldn’t want Will to win anything.
That would probably be the truth for Sue. And maybe a little bit for me! Just a little bit. A slight dusting of that.
Were you surprised that the Hollywood Foreign Press appreciated the character of Sue and her demeanor?
Well, I wasn’t surprised so much. I think they kind of like those types out there, across the pond. I think there’s a love for that kind of extreme character, you know?
Doesn’t it seem like the Hollywood Foreign Press would be something Sue would lash out at in a segment of “Sue’s Corner”?
Yeah, right! “Who are these foreign people commenting on our work?”
Also, Entertainment Tonight did an interview with the entire cast:
The Golden Globes will be broadcast on January 17 on NBC. Be sure to tune in and see if Glee wins!

Matthew Morrison Bio
Name: Matthew James MorrisonNickname(s): Matty Fresh
Date of Birth: October 30th, 1978
Fun Fact: Matthew played the annoyed police officer opposite Steve Carell in the heart-warming Dan In Real Life.
Hometown: Fort Ord, California
Character on Glee: Will Schuester
Matthew Morrison decided at a very young age to become an actor. After attending theater camp as a child, he decided to pursue a career in acting. He was trained at The Orange County High School of the Arts, and then later at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in the CAP 21 Program , which describes itself as:
"The comprehensive curriculum seamlessly integrates the three disciplines of Acting, Dance and Voice/Music into the actor’s body and technique creating a well-rounded and versatile young actor. The faculty of CAP21 is comprised of the finest master teachers and working professionals who specialize in the integration of these three disciplines."
Matthew has appeared in many musical theater productions on Broadway, including a musical version of Footloose, a revival of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and caught his "big break" in 2002 when he was cast for the role of Link Lari in Hairspray.
He then started guest starting on television shows, such as Numb3rs, CSI: Miami, The Ghost Whisperer, Hack and Sex and the City, in which he played "Young Busboy."
Matthew has also had small roles in several motion pictures, including Dan In Real Life, I Think Love My Wife and Music & Lyrics.
Glee is Matthew's first leading role on television, and with the success of the musical-"dramedy", expect Matthew Morrison to become a household name for years to come.
Quick Quote: [After he was asked in an interview whether the rumor that he is John Wayne's grandson is truth] "Oh, God! That is just a rumor, but I would have no shame in perpetuating it. I'll be John Wayne's grandson! You know, his real name was Marion Morrison -- and if you look at pictures of him and me, it's quite uncanny."

Dear Ryan Murphy (Are You Ready For Television History?)
I heard a little rumor that Kristin Chenoweth would be returning to the show sometime this spring for another episode. And I have an idea for you that will blow you away in the most mind freakin' of ways.
As you may or may not know, us theater geeks lourve Lea Michele in a Celine Dion kind of way not just because she's a Broadway baby, but also because she reminds us of Idina Menzel - Broadway Diva and Elphaba extraordinaire. Well, Mr. Murphy, I think it's time for Rachel to meet her biological mother! (Cue dramatic music)
Have Rachel's bio mother show up to tell her that she has been watching her daughter grow from a distance for the last sixteen years and is so proud of her, but never wanted to intrude because she knew Rachel's gay dads were raising her well. But now she is getting married to a military man who's being stationed in Reykjavík and wants to say a proper good-bye.
Rachel is touched and invites her to a glee club rehearsal (don't go cliche on this one and make her the angry "you're-not-my-mother!" teenager). But guess who knows Rachel's bio-mom? Mr. Schue! Turns out she is an old classmate of Will's. In high school bio-mom was not a very popular girl. But she did have one popular friend: April Rhodes.
OMG, I'm jumping with excitement just thinking about this.
Ok, so... we find out that bio-mom (I'll let you name her) did not end things well with April (something about a guy April liked having a crush on bio-mom, and then Terri spread nasty rumors about bio-mom, but she thought it was April who'd been spreading them) and it's been years since they've talked. Now you might already have something in mind for how to bring April back into the plot, but if you don't yet, then hear me out: Will calls April and asks her to take a few nights off in Branson to come visit. When she gets there, Will puts April and bio-mom in the same room and they are both livid. How dare he! This was none of his business.
Enter Emma with a brilliant suggestion that gives Will an idea! Again, I'll leave the idea up to you. Long story short, maybe there's a song involved for each of them that ends up playing like a mash-up (you seem to like those) and maybe something happens between Rachel and Quinn that forces bio-mom and April to step in. The ice between them starts to thaw. More stuff happens, and they realize they were both in the wrong. But bio-mom has to leave for Reykjavík and April has to head back to Branson.
And do you know what happens then? Oh, I think you do.... THEY SING "FOR GOOD"!!! Wicked reunion all up in Glee!! TELL ME THAT WOULDN'T KILL IN THE RATINGS!!!
Seriously, Mr. Murphy - think about this. Seriously consider it. I'm giving you television history here!
Gleefully Obsessively Yours,
Serg

Before she was showing her true colors on Glee, she was in the groundbreaking show Broadway Spring Awakening and served understudy for the roles of Anna, Martha, Thea and Ilse. While doing Spring Awakening, Jenna worked with co-star Lea Michele, though the two have known each other since they were 8 years old.
